Saturday, May 22nd, was another great race night at the Highland Speedway.  There were 29 UMP Late Models. It was Matt Weidner who led off the night by winning the first heat over John Beck, Rick Salter, and Dillan White. Second heat went to Michael Kloos, then Brian Wolfmeier, Ken Rumble, and Paul Bailey. Third heat top dog was the Highland Bulldog, Chad Zobrist. He beat out Dave Thornton, Brandon Hogenson, and Billy Faust. Fourth heat saw Mark Faust take the lead over Aaron Kleine, John Cory, and Frankie Martin. Consi order of finish was Mike Schulte, Brant Helmkamp, Craig Smith, Clay Baumann, Steven Unterbrink, Andy Pryor, Jimmy Burwell, Brant Kehrer, Michael Jacober, Dan Jacober, Bruce Unterbrink, Jamie Atchison, and Justin Ketrow DNS. For the third time this season, the checkered flag in the Feature waved for Chad Zobrist. He was chased by Kloos, Weidner, Mark Faust, Wolfmeier, Billy Faust, Rumble, Salter, Baumann, Bailey, Beck, Schulte, Hogenson, John Cory, Helmkamp, Klein, Frankie Martin, White, Thornton, and Craig Smith.

The UMP Steve Schmitt Modifieds had 23 cars. First heat went to Steve Lach, then Trista Stevenson, Aaron Kleine, and Tyler Blankenship. Second heat saw Brian Bielong take the lead over Dean Hoffman, Tim Hancock, and Chris Smith. Third heat saw Mike Harrison cross the finish line first. He was followed by Chad Sellers, Jim Werner, Jr, and Randy Dickman. Consi order of finish was Ron Hartnagel, Tyler Deibert, Khris Fohne, Stephen Flannery, Jr, Derek DuBree, Jeremy Thoele, Eric Faust, and Stephen Plog.  The Feature winner took the checkered flag for the fourth time this season. It was Mike Harrison who racked up the most Feature wins this season. He was chased by Bielong, Hoffman, Werner, Jr, Lach, Brett Korves, Hancock, Sellers, Smith, Deibert, Fohne, Hartnagel, Adam Pate, DuBree, Flannery, Jr, Eric Goetter, Kleine, Stevenson, Dickman, and Blankenship.

Twenty two UMP Sportsman raced for the checkered flag. Leading off the division was Dennis Wernle who took the first heat over Russell Eilers, Ryan Eilers, and Scott Drew. Second heat went to Rick Johnson, then Aaron Melton, Chris Lafferty, and Matt Koch. Mark Bohnenstiehl took the third heat win. He was chased by Allan Geiseking, Jimmy Cummins, and Dustin Knerrer. It was Russell Eilers who took the checkered flag for the third time this season in the Feature. Order of finish behind him was Wernle, Cummins, Ryan Eilers, Johnson, Melton, Drew, Geiseking, Knerrer, Rob Lee, Lafferty, Bohnenstiehl, Gary Range, Danny Beard, Mark Pflueger, Marc Roberson, Tom Stone, Phillip Loftus, Cory Brown, Matt Koch, Nathan Schmitt, and Chuck Goodman DNS.

Twenty six UMP Street Stock drivers were ready to race. It was Mike Ripperda, Jr who took the first heat win, then Richie Gabriel, Jeff Buss and Jake Hewitt. Second heat saw Stephen Fohne take the win over Matt Meier, Marcus Kruep, and Andy Beavers. Third heat had Kenny Landolt lead Zach Hoffman, Brad Venhaus, and TJ Eilers. Consi order of finish was Brian Crawford, Jordan Bauer, Keith Flannery, Bill Austin, Jacob Steinkoenig, Michael Leichsenring, James Kruep, Larry Smith, Jr DNS, Jeremy Izard DNS, Ron Hartmann DNS, and James Rhoades, Jr DNS. For the second time in a row, it was Stephen Fohne who took the checkered flag in the Feature.  He was followed by Ripperda, Jr, Hewitt, Meier, Eilers, Beavers, Crawford, Tim Koch, Bill Austin, Steinkoenig, Keith Flannery, Justin Leichsenring, Venhaus, Gabriel, Hoffman, Landolt, Buss, Marcus Kruep, Cody Johnson, and Jordan Bauer.

Nineteen UMP Factory Stock drivers were ready to take the checkered flag. Taking the first flag in the division was Trevor Isaak. He won the first heat over Jordan Suhre, Travis Horner, and Bobby Funderburk. Second heat went to Austin Isaak who led Eldon Hemken, Jason Schmidt, and Shea Gagne. Again in the Feature, it was a repeat winner. For the third time this season, it was Jordan Suhre who crossed the finish line first in the Feature. He was followed by Austin Isaak, Trevor Isaak, Hemken, Schmidt, Willy Myers, Horner, Funderburk, Gagne, Justin Suhre, Cale Hartnagel, Tommy Gaither, Caleb Lintezenich, Jim Hinson, Rick Viviano, Cody Ventimiglia, Lacey Egbert, Jerry Thompson, and Jacob Rexing DNS.

Saturday, May 29th, will be the Monster Midwest series for the UMP Late Models. All divisions will race.

Track Guidelines

Highland Speedway reserves the right to refuse admittance to anyone.

Drivers must be 14 years of age to race at the Highland Speedway. Drivers 14 and under must have permission from the track to race in the DIRTcar UMP Late Model, DIRTcar UMP Modified,  DIRTcar UMP SportMod division and DIRTcar UMP Street Stock division.

Minor drivers must have BOTH parents or legal guardians sign a minor release form for the driver to enter the race track. Minor drivers will sign the minor form each week during sign in at the pit shack. 

Each driver must enter their car to race every night. Every car that races must have a pit pass for the driver.
